From George Michael to Genesis, Frank Sinatra to Bob Dylan, Take That to Rod Stewart, Little Mix to ABBA. and much more – Northampton’s Deco Theatre continues to stage some of the UK’s finest tribute shows, and audiences are lapping it up, writes Matt Parsons.
All that, plus an Evening with Frank Bruno in October, Cinderella – another fantastic Panto lined up for December – and much more in the second half of this year means there is never a dull moment at The Deco!
The amazing Fastlove – a tribute to George Michael comes to Northampton on Friday, November 30, and is such an authentic celebration of the iconic singer, the backing musicians include Ed Barker, George’s solo saxophonist for many years. The show is touring the country this year. and includes a stop off in London’s West End.
Another West End show heading to The Deco is The Magic of Motown, on September 29. It’s a show that’s already been enjoyed by The Queen – Her Majesty was in the audience when it featured as part of the Royal Variety Performance.
Following the success of two charity evenings already hosted by The Deco already this year – with football icon Glenn Hoddle, and rugby union legend Martin Johnson – the visit of Frank Bruno to Northampton on October 6 completes an illustrious trio.
The former World Heavyweight boxing champion will be chatting about his career as one of the country’s most famous sportsmen, about life after boxing, and how he faced up to, and overcame, well documented personal demons.
The Deco is a thriving, family run, theatre based on the edge of Northampton town centre, in Abington Square, fast consolidating a proud reputation for top class entertainment at affordable prices.
