The University of Northampton’s Global Ethnic Majority (GEM) Staff Network is hosting its free ‘#BlackintheIvory’ conference online on October 14 between 1.00pm and 4.00pm BST.
The theme and title of the conference is based on the recently popularised “#BlackintheIvory” Twitter hashtag that focusses on the lived experiences of Black academics in Higher Education.
Keynote addresses will be presented by leading UK and USA scholar activists, HE advisors and business professionals; all of whom will be presenting their work and experiences of advocating for positive changes for equality and inclusion within the Higher Education sector.
The creator of the #BlackintheIvory hashtag, Dr Sharde’ Davis, Assistant Professor of Communication at the University of Connecticut will give the Keynote Presentation at the conference.
