Dan Biggar put in a Man of the Match performance as Saints returning world cup players sparkled against the French league leaders Lyon at Franklin’s Gardens.
He assisted Rory Hutchinson’s try and kicked a hatful of points earning high praise from coach Chris Boyd: “He’s the best in the world at what he does.”
It was a game of two halves with Saints dominant in the first and resolute in the second, maintaining the momentum of the season despite two tries from Lyon.
Interestingly Saints once again found themselves defending their line with determination until infringements saw Teimana Harrison made an example of with a yellow card. Ironically it would have been better to concede the try without losing a man but you can’t coach defenders to let the opposition score. I guess the answer is just perfect defence. Simple.
