Two hundred beers at Northampton Beer Festival

As every year since 1973, this coming weekend sees the Northants CAMRA beer festival, writes Alaric Neville.

The event has grown from a few enthusiasts in the old Derngate Bus Station, standing around  a dozen or so casks of real ale, to one of the cultural events on the county which attracts 10,000 people from around our region.

This year we are showcasing 20 commercial breweries from all over Northamptonshire along with a selection of beers from the rest of the country, offering you over 200 different beers to try.

In addition all the county’s local cider producers, our three gin distillers and even a rum blender from Kettering make for a wonderful party in  a park atmosphere for families and  drink connoisseurs alike.

The finest local musicians will also keep you entertained with a selection of street food stalls keep you fed.

The event opens at 12 on Friday 31st and runs through to 6:00 on Sunday 2nd at Becket’s Park.
