Thousands of pupils get stuck into science at Big Bang Silverstone

The Big Bang at Silverstone was the second science and engineering fair put on at the home of the British Grand Prix and saw thousands of school children arriving to be inspired by technology.

There were talks, demonstrations, exhibits and stalls from a diverse selection of contributors who ranged from Santa Pod Racing, Dr Martens footwear to TV presenter Dallas Campbell.

The event was organised by Engineering UK in partnership with the University of Northampton.

Nemo, the machine designed to recreate the sound of The Nene for the NMPAT performance of a piece of music called The Nene – it featured at the NeneScape stand

Community radio station NLive broadcast live from the event during the morning.
