National cycling showcase at Birmingham

The Cycle Show, the UK’s national cycling showcase is returning to Birmingham’s NEC Exhibition Center.

The Cycle Show, the UK’s national cycling showcase is returning to Birmingham’s very own NEC Exhibition Center, and it’s gearing up to be another great event. The show will feature over 300 exhibitors, 500+ cycling brands including including: Bianchi, Calibre, Canyon, Cannondale, Condor, Colnago, Cube, DMR Bikes, Dolan, GT Grade, Kona, Orange, Racing Cycles, Ribble, Rose, Pivot, Trillion, Yeti, Whyte and more, and the very latest kit and accessories. It’s the best place in the country to compare all that’s new from the world of cycling.

We’ll have some of the biggest names in cycling like TV’s Ned Boulting and pro cyclists Marcel Kittel, Alex Dowsett, Sam Pilgrim, Lee Musselwhite, Annie Emerson, Shanaze Danielle Reade, and two time Olympic gold medallist Joanna Rowsell Shand making guest appearances. All set alongside interactive activities suitable for all ages and experiences of cyclists, meaning there’ll be something to keep everyone entertained.

From the 28th to 30th September, the NEC will play host to The Cycle Show, the best place in the country to see, try and buy the latest 2019 bike models from the leading brands. With free test tracks featuring the latest road bikes, mountain bikes (MTBs), electric and kids bikes, visitors will have the option to ‘try before they buy’ and to benefit from special show offers on the most innovative cycling gear, accessories and kit.

An ideal day out for the whole family, there will be two dedicated kids tracks, with Cube and Islabikes bringing their expertise to the show, providing a fleet of bikes each for their dedicated free-to-ride test tracks – a great chance for your kids to get out riding. Not only that, but experts will be on hand to answer questions and offer advice.

If you’re after a little more excitement, witness a whole host of tricks being thrown down at the Extreme Bike Battle, featuring some of the best riders from across the BMX and Mountain Biking world – including pro-freerider and former world champion Sam Pilgrim who will be at the show on Saturday 29th September. Meanwhile Lee Musselwhite (Professional BMX Flatland Rider and UK Flatland Champion) will be offering BMX Flatland coaching for kids throughout the show. With more riders soon to be announced, you’d be mad to miss out.

Women_s Hub
The Cycle Show at the NEC, Birmingham

For those new to riding, the New2Cycling Hub in partnership with free2cycle will provide all the help, advice and know-how you need to increase confidence and enjoyment of cycling. Free to use, with regular demos, talks and advice throughout all three days, the New2Cycling Hub will be the perfect place to learn more about cycling, or start your journey into the world of cycling.

And the pros won’t just be out on the course. As part of the exciting lineup of speakers coming to the NEC Birmingham, Katusha-Alpecin riders Marcel Kittel (19 Grand Tour stage wins) and Alex Dowsett (Commonwealth Games ’14 Gold Medalist) will be making special guest appearances on Saturday 29th and 30th September respectively. Visitors will be able to put their questions to the riders when they appear on the Main Stage and VIP ticket holders will have the opportunity to rub shoulders with both riders in the VIP Lounge for signings and photos.

Elsewhere in the show, retail therapy might be the order of the day, and whether you’re looking to purchase the latest in cycling gear, accessories or apparel, there will be the newest and most innovative products on sale suitable for all ages and experience of riders – including female specific products available at the Velovixen Women’s Cycling Hub.

The Cycle Show is the UK’s national cycling showcase supported by British Cycling HSBC UK.  Taking place annually at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, the 2018 event will be the show’s 17th edition.  With over 300 exhibitors displaying over 500 brands, the show is the first place for visitors to see and compare the newest launches from the biggest brands before they are available in the shops or online.  Visitors are able to ride a selection of the best new road, mountain bike (MTB), EMTB, Electric and kids bikes for free at the show on a choice of test tracks.
