Alan Moore was among speakers at an anti-cuts protest rally in Northampton today.
The demonstration was organised by Save Our Services and was calling on the public to protest at the full county council meeting on February 22, when the current dire state of Northamptonshire’s finances is due to be discussed.
Other speakers included Gareth Eales, Labour Councillor & County Councillor, PPC Northampton South, Peter Stefanovic, journalist and blogger, Anjona Roy, Chief Executive of Northants Race Equality Council, and Bob Findlay from Disabled Persons Against Cuts.
Moore said: “We are good at producing troublemakers… We have got a history of dissent in this town going back almost 1000 years… now go out and do what you’re good at…”
A truly great speech, the ending brilliantly passive aggressive but funny. Al employed this technique when he wrote the foreword in my comic about the DWP, Creeps & Underdogs. A great and kind man.
