It’s got webbed feet, thick fur, eats meat and it’s in there…

Some of the most interesting wildlife in the UK now lives right next to mankind in urban areas.

That was borne out by photographer Dave Ikin’s latest find at one of the Sixfields lakes in Northampton.

He captured these shots of an otter – a species that almost died out in the UK during the 1960s.

It shows that the water quality must be good because otters only thrive in unpolluted waters.

They eat fish and sometimes small birds and frogs and are a protected species.
